Popsicle Day

Today Marty and I ate homemade popsicles on the patio. I so don't want summer to end!

Strawberry Kiwi Jam

So this is what I made this last week, and it is sooo good! It's like summer trapped in a jar. There is a little ginger and lemon with the kiwi and strawberries to it really pops in your mouth. This is soo not helping my bread obsession!

Kristine made some awesome capes.

Marty is having his friend Zach over, so Kristine made some rad capes for them.

The panda was inspired by Marty's stuffed animal, Mr. Goo.
The cape makes Marty fast.

Roast Beef

Kristine just told me this: "Marty was crying last night, and I thought he was roast beef." I only vaguely remember her saying something strange last night as I got up to take care of him.

Also, Marty spent most of dinner tickling his pasta.

All in all, my family is strange.

Wow

So, I know, I never post anymore. While I have accepted the fact that I am not a great blogger or writer, I realized that I have not been taking enough photos of Marty lately, and that is unacceptable! So, for no one else but me, I will start taking a few more because he is growing up so fast.
Things about Marty-
*He says hello to EVERYONE. He is Mr. Friendly and I am starting to get worried about stranger danger and this guy. He even says hello to buses, bugs, and my favorite, his bath water.
*He knows he's funny. He tells us when we are laughing thats he's funny just in case we forget
*He thinks all bugs are his friends, even ants and yellow jackets. We are working on trying to inform him that not all bugs want to be "pet" like rolly pollys
*This little guy loves dogs. He used to call them dogs, but now they are passies, and he squeals at them. He actually does the same thing with tractors and it made for an entertaining drive to CA. I never thought I would say this, but all the construction on I-15 kept him busy for hours.
* I love his silly faces, I love that the first thing out of his mouth in the morning is him asking for his sandals and I love his sweet hugs.

In other exciting news, he is going to be a big brother! Ha I realize that I have not really told many people so if this is news to you, don't be offended. I am about 18 or so weeks along and we find out what we are having in about a week and half. I feel so blessed our family is expanding!

My thoughts on a few things

Dear Poison Control- Thank you for existing. Thank you for not making me feel like a complete tool for having to call and tell you that my child played in rat poison while I was not looking. Thank you for warning me when you explained the slow painful death of a rat who has consumed such poison and then reassuring me over and over that my son would be just fine.

Dear Highlander- I miss you. Blast the poor tired guy who fell asleep at 1:00 in the afternoon and destroyed you. I didn't know how much I loved you until you were gone.

Dear Used Car Sales Men- (Men, because I have yet to find a girl at one of these places)- How do I know if you are being honest? You all tell me something different and then confuse me and give me headaches.

Dear Mini-Van Drivers- Did you feel like your youth was sucked out of you when you decided to buy one of these glorious F.U.V.'s ( thats fun utility vehicle)? I love the practicality, I love the space, I loath the feeling of "Maturity" that comes with me driving one.

Dear BYU students- Why do you look like babies? Why do I suddenly feel like if I were walking around campus I would not blend in anymore or even pass for a student? Why did it take me this long to realize that I am old? ( And this is without driving a Van yet!?)

Dear Laundry- I thought we made up and were friends. What happened. I would like that sock and my life back please.

Dear Marty- Why are you so cute? What did you do with my baby? Besides doing baby things like play with poison, you are really turning into a little man! Love it. Fear it. Trying to Embrace it.

Dear PC- I hope you didn't take it personal when I kicked you out of the living room and put your in my bedroom. You and I had an unhealthy relationship. While it was fun while it lasted, I desperately need the time you were sucking from my life. People will still blog whether I am reading about it or not and my family enjoys having me back.

Dear Life- I love you.

Caught in the Act!

Today I came home from a long day of work, tucked my boy in bed and then sat down at the computer to open up some files to start editing. I came across these 2 photos of my little man. I was shooting senior photos on this beautiful fall day and my husband, Scott, and little boy Marty stopped by to say hi and play in the leaves where we were shooting. I have my camera in my hand so often that when he see’s me grab it he comes running over and says, “Cheese!” I couldn’t help but snap a few of him between my senior’s outfit changes. Don’t let that cute smile fool you, he is all mischief!

Last Week

Everyone is now healthy. Last week was a crazy one. We had a bridal show on Saturday up at the Grand America in Salt Lake but I also had booked a wedding on the same day so Scott manned the booth while I went out shooting. Scott also got rear ended last Tuesday. He was at a red light and the guy behind him fell asleep at the wheel and ran into him. Scott has been going to a chiropractor for his back but is still hurting quite a bit. One of his favorite things to do is attach the electrode thing the doctor gave him to his arm and watch his fingers go crazy as the volts go through him.
Erin was shooting with me on Saturday and got sick. We stopped by the bridal show to help Scott out for a bit. He went to get Cokes and paid $2.50 for an 8 oz aluminum bottle of Coke, two of them actually, so $5. Those hotels will rip you off. We booked some stuff at the show, so that was good even though Scott made a girl and her mom cry, but we won't go into details on that other than to say he didn't do anything mean, just struck a chord with them and it pulled on their heart strings.
Scott is taking over all of my SEO for Lucky Lime Photography, which means "I" (Scott really) will be a much more active facebooker and blogger, at least that's the hope.
Marty continues to be ridiculous. He likes to greet Scott with a hug and a prompt "gonk gonk" (honk honk) on the nose, he thinks that "mommy" means "up", and believes that everything that comes out of a microwave is called a bottle.
