Here's to not going crazy anymore...

School's out, I don't have to work until next year!! Words cannot express how happy I am right now. With the wedding we just shot, family in town and our house FLOODING these past 2 weeks have been insane. Now I feel like I really can focus on what Christmas is about and relax just a little bit. I was trying to post on the blog more often, but I am going for stress free these next two weeks. So if I feel like blogging I will, but If not, see ya next year!

Merry Christmas!

Less than a week away!

The gorgeous Becca will be getting married in less than a week! I'm so excited for her. I have so much to do to get ready for our trip to CA and for next week! My sister will be staying with us this weekend and then Scotts sister will be here for the wedding. I love having family around, and I love Scott's sisters so this is going to be a good week. Wish me luck in cleaning my shower :(

LATE!

So months ago I took pictures of this cute guy and then our computer crashed and wouldnt burn CD's and then Boot Camp was over and I didn't see his mom any more... Long story short, I just found the file on my computer and am going to deliver these to them tonight! I can't believe I didn't find a way to do this earlier! But isn't he SOOO cute?
If I could make babies that would look like this I think I would have 10.

Its been awhile

yeah, I know. I've been the boring one that has not updated my blog in about forever! I will hopefully add some pictures tomorrow (we got a new computer and this one does not have any of our pictures on it yet) but just wanted to post and say happy late Thanksgiving.
Scott, me, and my sister Angela went out to Bountiful to enjoy the feast with my brother in law and his in laws. It was a great day and we all decided to go see the temple square lights to end the evening.
Did you know they don't turn on the lights until 2 days after Thanksgiving? HAHA we do now.

Snow

Its Saturday morning, and only the middle of October and it is snowing outside my window. There is a BYU football game today, (yeah, hot chocolate) and I am supposed to drive to Idaho tomorrow. Yargh. Winter, I wouldn't mind if you were fashionably late!

Bryce and Aubrey

Wow! Scott and I just got back from a wedding today of our good friend Bryce Lee. First off, Bryce and Aubrey looked amazing! Second, the location of the reception was too cool. It was at the Olympic Park in Park City. So in the background of the reception we saw aeiral ski jumpers practicing and landing in a giant training pool. So cool! We are so excited that these two have found each other and are happy! They ended the day by going on a bobsled ride! What a party.

Nic and Becca

YArgh, blogger is not letting me upload more pictures right now, but here is a sneak peak of some of Nic and Becca's engagement pictures! Nic and his brother Matt are both getting married this year and we did a double engagement shoot. I will post some of his brothers pictures soon! Stay tuned...

Ouch!

Still love boot camp, still love the gym, unfortunately I am more sore than I have ever been. Plus, nothings worse than vouching to eat healthy and then running into your trainer at Red Robin. Hehee oops. She suggested the wraps, which I am sure are delicious and healthy but I enjoyed my bonzai burger with fries thank you very much!
PS GO COUGARS! 59-0 against UCLA. And yes I was at the game and it rocked!

BOOTCAMP!

Two wonderful years of marriage and 20lbs later I have started bootcamp! What is bootcamp? Well the first day I would say it was nothing short of torture but in a fun, "Im getting my butt in gear" sort of way.
To explain a little better, we had a wonderful stake conference this past weekend and the Saturday adult session had a running theme of being your best self. Scott and I had been talking about different aspects in our lives we wanted to be better at and one of mine was to be in better shape. ( A nice pretty shape, not the blobish shape that prefers sweat pants cuz' she cant fit in anything else kind of shap) Well who happened to be sitting behind me in Saturday's conference session? A personal trainer from my ward! Turns out she was starting a boot camp the following weekend. It's for women of all shapes and sized and athletic abilities. We get together in the evenings at a park and well Kjell ( our trainer) has us run sprints, condition and run obstacle courses. We even had to run the mile and be tested on situps and pushups. I have not pushed myself this hard in so long and I am loving it! Today while running sprints some of us girls were chanting "skinny jeans" and "skinny buns" for inspiration. I have come home exhausted but feeling so good that I am doing somthing to work towards my goal! Tomorrow morning I have my first personal training session in the gym, wish me luck.
And if I call you to go out for icecream, or ask you to join me and my hubby for a dinner out... just chant "skinny jeans", and then maybe I can shift to having a piece of fruit with you or a healthy homemade meal!
Wish me luck and heres to a healthier me!

School Started!

Can you tell from the lack of posts that I am a first year teacher and school has started! I teach PE and Aerobics at a local middle school and while I have never been more tired in my life, I am having a blast. Seriously this age group is so much fun. So, Sorry for the lack of posts. We do still exist. More updates this weekend I promise!

Do clean kitchens make anyone else happy?

I have just scrubbed every appliance, nook and cranny in my kitchen and am waiting for my freshly moped floors to dry. Ahhh. I almost get giddy when it's this clean. I love it. Scott and I will be having 2 of his guy friends living with us until they get married to in the fall so I'm not sure how clean things will stay, but for now it's great. We are going to re-organize and clean our "fun" room this afternoon and although it will be tedious I am excited for the final product! Happy cleaning or whatever else you are doing this Saturday!

"S" Curve: Enjoying life's rides

When I was a sophomore in college I was feeling gutsy ( and yes there were cute boys watching) and decided to try to snowboard on an "S" shaped rail for the first time. Wow, what a ride and thrill that was just a tad too advanced for me. I ended up tearing most of the ligaments in my lower back and to this day I would say my back is not really the same. Well this weekend I jumped on one of life's little "S" rails and was chewed up and spit back out just like before. Now that the storm has passed and the dust has settled I would say overall I'm doing real good. We are here for that very purpose right? To learn, grow and be challenged and prove what we are made of. And while I am still not quite a pro at those "S" curves, I am learning that I am tough enough to get back on to enjoy the ride.

Only 7 days old!

Thanks to my cousin Julie who inspired me to check out ebay a little closer, I bought a vintage scale. Price: $1.50 Yup. Thats all. Anyways I have been dying to take a picture with it as well as take a picture of a new born. Today I got my wish. This truly was one of the most beautiful babies I have ever seen. Only 7 days old I was just amazed at how alert and happy she was. What a gift!

Double the Fun!

Scott and I went out to American Fork last night to take pictures of Sherry and Bryon's amazing family. Their cute twins just turned two and we had so much fun! When I was little I wanted to be just like Sherry, we even both worked at Hot Dog on Stick at one point! It was wonderful seeing her and her family and they were so photogenic! I am still editing the rest of the shoot, (it's difficult to get one two year old to look at the camera, try two!) but can't wait to finish and get them their pictures!

Few More!

Sorry, too cute to not post more! Couldn't resist!

I'm Back!!

I've been back in Utah about 4 days now and it's so nice to be back! What was supposed to be a 10 day trip turned into a 2week plus trip when Angela (my sister) broke her leg. I had so much fun down there I promise I will blog about it but until then, here is a quick look of my cousin's awesome kids, Lily and Caleb.

Mowing the Lawn

I absolutely hated mowing the lawn growing up. Maybe it was because I came from a family of all girls and there were no brothers to do it and it always seemed to fall on me. Because I was always asked to mow the lawn and not my dainty older sister I thought my parents were trying to send some kind of messages to me like, " She's sturdy, let's put her to work!". While I know they were doing no such thing and my sister participated in lots of other chores I had no interest in mowing the lawn has always left a sour taste in my mouth. So you may remember from an earlier post that I am doing NOTHING this summer and to be honest its getting a little old. Not warm enough for the water park, I've already painted and repainted my toes more time than should be natural in a week and I need stuff to do! So what am I doing this lovely Thursday morning? Mowing the blasted lawn. Maybe now our neighbors won't think we have abandoned the house we won't be shunned by all the gardeners we live by (seriously who likes to do yard work? I'll tell you, everyone of our neighbors for hours and hours!)
PS I couldn't find a picture of a girl mowing a lawn when I did a google image search. I think its that way for a reason.

California here I come, right back where I started from...

Yeah! I'm off to California on Friday! I know I was just there in April but man I miss it. I am going to keep my mom company because my dad is out of town and she doesn't want to be alone. Isn't that cute? HAah I don't care what the reason is I will take any excuse I can get. I am so excited to go to the temple with her, possibly see Wicked, watch her go nuts with camp and try to help, and see my sister! So sad the hubby can't come. He will be "takin' care of business" and working it up back in Provo so he can take time off to visit California later in the summer. Trader Joe's here I come!

Where are you summer?

Scott and I bought passes to the water park this summer with plans of becoming tan and spending lazy days lounging by the pool. Can someone please tell mother nature I wouldn't mind a little global warming right about now? 65 degrees is simply unacceptable for the high in June. I would appreciate a day with 80' so I can make the most of the "largest water park in Utah". Thank you. See you at the pool with my Martha Stewart Living magazine and new hotpink beach bag.

New Business Cards!

Above is the back, below is the front

So I ordered some new business cards that will be here next week! They are very girly and so even though Scott and I shoot together these ones are just for me to hand out! A girl just needs to be girly! Oh and our webiste is getting a major facelift in the next few weeks, I will keep you posted but it's going to look awesome!

Too funny!

My friend totally has this link on her blog but I am copying! Click on this link and see what stars would look like if they lived in Utah! My favorite would be Tom Cruise!

Stuff White People Like

Our friends introduced us to this clever little blog about, yup, stuff white people like. Seeing as I'm white, I wanted to check out just how accurate it would be. So far almost dead on. Check it out yourself for some good laughs. I suggest reading the top posts for some more intense chuckles.

Elizabeth's Family Shoot

Latham Family Shoot!

So Lame!

I love to look at people's blogs and get caught up on what they are doing. I get so annoyed when people don't update and I don't know what they are doing. It just dawned on me that I am the worst at not updated the blog! I'm so lame! Let me catch you up on the McNairy happenings and then I vow to be more consistent. (I think the problem with all this technology and blogging is I feel like after readying your blogs I've had a conversation with you and caught up, and forget that that catching up was only one sided!)

Kristine- I have been teaching at an alternative high school these last 3 months and have absolutely loved it. My last day was on Friday and I don't work- one more time for those that are slow- I DONT WORK until mid August when school school starts again. Being a teacher is awesome! There will be some weddings and other photography related stuff keeping me busy but my plans this summer consist of going to seven peaks often and getting my rear in gear by getting in shape. If anyone has any ideas on how to not go crazy without a car, kids, or a job this summer let me know.

Scott- Finishing up last and final class at BYU Spring term. 3 more weeks and he is officially done. After much debate and prayers it looks like we are staying in Utah for the next few years. We tried, we begged, we pleaded to end up in California but sometimes prayers are answered in ways we don't expect. Scott got an awesome job in Orem that he loves at a company called WEBReady maintaining and creating their websites. He loves it so much he was actually sad he didn't have work on Memorial Day. I love that he loves what he is doing. I love that we sort of know where we will be for the next bit. I'm starting to love Utah.

So there you have it. I am about to call my sister and find out how to make one of those slide show things so I can update you on our happenings pictorially.

Let the not so lame summer begin!

Lexi Rose

My cousins and I were inseparable when we were kids and now I am shocked at how most of us are married and have kids of our own! While home last weekend in California my cousin Julie came over with her sweet new addition. We couldn't really get her son Jacob to hold still but Lexi was an angel! Here is a quick look at her beautiful little girl!

New Favorite Book!

I have access to the library at the school I work at and I had seen this book on a few book group reviews and thought I would give it a try~Loved it! The author is just a wonderful story teller, I might even read this again. If you like clever whittty writing and adventure (think zoo animals/ship wreck) this book is for you. Hope you like it as much as I did!

Short Arms

Scott was away this last WEEK!!!! helping out in Vegas. Words cannot express how much I missed him. Sounds cheesy and sappy but the house was way too quiet and it is so nice to have my buddy back. Good thing I have a sister somewhat near by! Ang came down to visit for the weekend and to spend Easter with me so I didn't have to be alone. We had a blast; so glad sisters are friends too! Unfortunalty my mom decided to not feed me and Wendy vegetables and saved the good stuff for the last two. Hence Wendy and I are the family shorties. Short legs= short arms. The picture I tried to take left me not really in the picture. Ang of course got both of us in the first try( What I would give for those long legs and arms!). I am stubborn and had to keep trying until I got one that had both our heads.

Updates

Scott and I have been so busy lately we have not had time to update the world on our adventures!
Kristine- I am working at an Alternative High School teaching Health and PE and have yet to come home without very "interesting" dinner conversation. I have learned about shanking people ( a kinder term for stabbing), dealing heroin, and the joys of being a teenager in today's world along with a slew of new swear words. Needless to say the students are colorful. Yes, I am safe where I am at, and actually I love it. It's just until the end of the year and I am going to miss being called Mrs. M C. I have found that even though I cry in just about any movie including elf, I do have a tough side and I am embracing it!
Scott- Almost graduated! A bit more than ready to be done with school, Scott's been working hard and is ready for that alumni card. He has been working on some projects on the side that look like they will keep him pretty busy this summer. Fortunately not busy enough to say no to the Seven Peaks Water Park passes we will be buying! Anyone else in?

That's us! We are heading down to Vegas for the weekend to see Scott's parents and to see Kaa! I can't wait!

Gauntlet Legends

This is a post in response to a special request from Jeanette for us to post more and specifically to post regarding our new video game. We went to the nickle arcade a couple of weeks ago and played Gauntlet Legends. Kristine liked it, so I hesitantly decided to buy the game for our futuristic Nintendo 64. We've been playing non-stop since. Kristine is currently a level 50 Valkarie and I am a level 60-something Menatour. I have no idea how to spell either of those things, but the game is fun. I have pictures but can't figure out how to get them from the camera to the computer.
We also went to IKEA today. That was pretty cool. We ate Swedish meatballs and macaroni, which was good. I've decided that we want a queen size bunk bed with the bed on top and one of those chucky cheese ball pits underneith, I think it will work out really nicely.
We also bought this weird Swedish back stretching thing. It's kind of weird but really cool too. You have to sit on the ground and tie these things to your wrists and ankles, then this machine slowly tightens them so you're like getting pulled apart. It hurts a bit, but it's a nice stretch for the most part. They sell attachments that are supposed to help with your pain threshhold, like a "tac-bed" which is esentially a bed of nails that you lay on while the thing stretches you, but I think that would be way to painful. The stretching thing seems bad enough. . . I scanned in one of the warnings from the instruction booklet.

IKEA products are so cool.

Thanks for the Good Time!

Scott and I got to shoot some engagment pictures together this weekend and had a blast with these two. I think it's safe to say from this picture that they had a good time too! Good Luck with the wedding!
